DO I NEED TO BE A BUSINESS MAJOR TO RUSH?

We welcome all majors! The Chi Epsilon chapter is comprised of brothers from each of the colleges at Cal Poly Pomona.

 

 

CAN I BE A MEMBER OF OTHER ORGANIZATIONS AND STILL JOIN?

Yes, we encourage our members to stay as active on campus as possible. Many of our brothers are a part of various clubs, organizations, and honor societies. However, to be eligible for Alpha Kappa Psi, you must not be in another organization under the Professional Fraternity Council.

 

 

WHAT IS RUSH AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

Rush is a week-long series of events ranging from open informational sessions to invitational professional events held at the beginning of the Fall and Spring semester. The purpose of Rush is to introduce prospective brothers to the chapter’s history, culture, and members. This is also an opportunity for active members to meet and learn about interested candidates.

Alpha Kappa Psi offers a wide range of resources and opportunities to help every brother gain professional and soft skills necessary in the future workforce. Brothers help each other develop professionally by utilizing the resources, workshops, network, hands-on leadership experiences, and support in the fraternity. Our brotherhood is made of a highly accomplished, diverse group of people with a common desire for success and motivation to achieve more. WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR IN A RUSH CANDIDATE?

There is no “ideal” rush candidate. We recognize a candidate's skills and contributions and evaluate them holistically based on individual merit.

 

 

WHAT IS THE PLEDGING PROCESS LIKE?

The pledge process is designed to cultivate your personal and professional skills. You will take part in coordinating service, professional, and social events all the while provided with the opportunity to network and showcase your leadership abilities. In accordance with university regulations and chapter bylaws, we have a strict no-hazing policy.
