During my internship I rotated throughout the different accounting departments within the firm. I rotated through ACFO (accounting and CFO advisory), tax, and audit departments. I was able to prepare Q2 tax estimates for various clients, learn the differences between VC (venture capital) audits and corporate audits, and provide payroll and budgeting accounting services.
I attended CPPs Meet the Firms event during my sophomore year of college.
My big, Natalie Tom actually referred me to the Meet the Firms event which led me to connecting me with the Firm. During the event, I used many of my soft skills that I learned from AKPsi like being conversational and knowing how to go through an interview process.
My favorite aspect about the internship has to be connecting with my fellow interns as well as employees who work within the firm. I was able to learn a ton about public accounting just from getting to know these people and spending TJME with them.
This internship has taught me the importance of company culture and work life balance. Frank Rimerman made sure to emphasize these two points and it really made me feel like the firm truly cares about its employees.
