Throughout the internship I shadowed several red-team engagements, performed a mock penetration test for my capstone project, and researched about malware development and detections.
I had applied for the internship during the fall and hadn't heard anything back for a while, but having connections to SWIFT alumni in CrowdStrike had helped expedite my application into the interview process. And I had no idea how I passed the interview process because I didn't know at least half of the answers to the technical portion but somehow I made it.
Main thing I'd say that helped from my experience in AKPsi was learning how to step up, be responsible, and take initiative in your work. Also huge shoutout to Eric Lam (C/O 2022) for supporting me throughout my entire journey.
I really enjoyed going out to KBBQ and singing karaoke with several CrowdStrikers. Learning about ethical hacking was pretty cool too.
This internship had taught me to not worry about the future in terms of choosing a career and being "locked in" into whatever job you get after college - just focus on learning as much as possible.
